Position Overview:
We are seeking a mission-focused Site Operations & Security Systems Engineer to manage, secure, and support IT infrastructure for sensitive federal environments. This role combines systems administration, cybersecurity enforcement, and technical operations management in support of multi-agency programs. You’ll be responsible for ensuring system uptime, security compliance, and seamless integration across classified and enterprise-grade systems.
Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with Red Hat and Windows systems, a strong understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., RMF, NIST 800-53), and the ability to lead on-site operations with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, monitor, and maintain Linux and Windows systems in a classified, multi-agency environment.
- Lead technical integration efforts, system upgrades, and security patching in alignment with mission and compliance objectives.
- Enforce federal cybersecurity requirements and maintain compliance with RMF, DISA STIGs, IAVMs, and agency-specific directives.
- Configure and manage VMware environments and virtualized infrastructure; support VM lifecycle operations.
- Coordinate system access controls, firewall rules, and user permissions across secure domains.
- Develop and run scripts (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) to automate tasks, streamline operations, and monitor system health.
- Maintain up-to-date security documentation and system baselines; support audits and inspections.
- Serve as a key point of contact for onsite technical operations, coordinating with IT, engineering, cybersecurity, and federal stakeholders.
- Support incident response, root cause analysis, and system restoration procedures.
- Conduct inventory, configuration control, and continuous monitoring of systems for vulnerabilities and performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field—or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on system administration experience in secure, mission-critical environments.
- Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher).
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CySA+, or equivalent).
- Strong experience with Red Hat Linux and Windows Server environments.
- Proven knowledge of RMF, NIST 800-53, and secure system configuration standards.
- Familiarity with virtual environments (VMware, vSphere) and directory services (Active Directory, LDAP).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance.
- Experience supporting multiple federal agencies or joint programs.
- Knowledge of Ansible, Docker, or other DevSecOps tools.
- Hands-on experience with ACAS/Nessus, STIG Viewer, and enterprise SIEM platforms.
- Experience supporting FedRAMP or FISMA-moderate systems.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional coordination skills.
